Description
A late flowering perennial, Kirengeshoma brings colour to areas of the garden that are positioned in dappled shade, when all other plants are fading into their winter hibernation.
A member of the hydrangea family, Yellow Wax Bells (as it is sometimes called), emerges from its winter sleep in spring as a thick clump of hydrangea-like leaves which form a spectacular feature in their own right, before sending up slender ebony stems topped by its fat, waxy buds.
These stems arch gracefully as the buds swell and finally burst to reveal its sophisticated waxy blooms, each with a lustrous sheen that sparkles in sunlight.
As the seasons turn to autumn, the bright green leaves turn to gold and round seed capsules form, further adding to the beauty of this plant.
Fully deserving its coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit, you can be sure that this is a proven garden performer, guaranteed to be suitable for UK gardeners at every level of experience. You can therefore plant this in the garden with confidence, for stunning displays for many years to come.
Supplied as an established plant in a 9cm pot, Kirengeshoma is fully hardy, and will return each year, getting bigger and better.
