Description
The flowers of Passiflora are quite possibly the most exotic looking that you can grow, and 'Betty Myles Young' is a perfect example.
The extraordinary flowers have bright purple-blue reflexed petals and filaments tipped with blue and are absolutely fascinating to see as they appear all over this semi-evergreen climber from May until September, standing out in contrast to the glossy, deep green multi-lobed leaves.
Hardy once established, they thrive against a south-facing wall or in large pots – and perfect for covering walls, arches and trellises. The flowers are very waxy and long lasting, and their amazing detail is a fascinating. You may even be treated to orange passion fruits in hot years, but wait until they're very orange and ripe before eating.
Supplied as an established plant in an 11cm pot, ready to plant and growing to 6m (20ft) in height with a spread of 4m (13ft).
