'Boulevard' is an incredibly impressive series of clematis bred by the award winning nurseryman, author, and photographer Raymond Evison at his nursery on the island of Guernsey. A world renowned expert in clematis breeding, his exhibits have won an incredible 29 gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show. With that in mind, you just know that Boulevard clematis are sure to be something special.
These compact clematis bloom all the way along their stems, resulting in a profusion of extravagantly large flowers from the ground upwards from June until November, an incredibly long flowering season.
Their short stature makes them the perfect clematis for growing up obelisks and trellises, especially in containers. Also, they're great in hanging baskets too – an interesting alternative to the more usual trailing plants, with abundant flowers creating breathtaking displays month after month.
Supplied as a pair of established plants in 10.5cm pots, ready for planting and reaching a height of 1.2m (4ft) and width of 60cm (2ft), including:
'Pompeii' – flowers with broad, oval petals in beautifully soft pastel pink.
'Olympia' – with stunning, rich purple-blue flowers.
