Description

A stunning collection of hardy Gardenias, these beautiful compact shrubs will cast a spell on you with their lush, evergreen foliage and enchanting white flowers that will fill your garden with their exquisite, jasmine-like fragrance – one of the most intoxicating scents you'll ever experience. They'll flower from July until September, giving you a summer long treat of flowers and fragrance.
These are new varieties of hardier Gardenias, and so can be kept outside all winter as long as they receive protection from the coldest weather, and as they're evergreen, they'll look great whatever the season. They make wonderful specimen plants in large patio containers and are stunning in borders too. Easy to care for, requiring little pruning apart from a trim each spring and the removal of dead stems. Preferring acid soil, use ericaceous compost when growing in pots.
Supplied as 3 established plants in 9 cm pots, ready for planting and, including:
Gardenia jasminoides 'Crown Jewel' – Small yet covered in large fully double flowers and perfect for growing in a pot, reaching a height of 70 cm (2½ ft) and spread of 60 cm (2 ft).
Gardenia jasminoides 'Celestial Star' – Delicate pure white double flowers with curled petals, growing to a height and spread of 1.2 m (4 ft).
Gardenia jasminoides 'Sweet Heart' – Earlier to flower than other varieties with simple, single flowers, reaching a height and spread of 1.2 m (4 ft).
