Description

'Beluga Red' is a versatile variety that produces generous yields of deliciously sweet, glossy, bright red peppers. Green initially, they reach the peak of their colouring and nutrition from July until October.
These peppers are particularly easy to grow and will happily adapt to almost any growing conditions, giving a reliable succession of flowers and fruit all summer long and into autumn. Best grown in full sun, which will produce the biggest, sweetest peppers that quickly change from green to red, 'Beluga Red' does well in a greenhouse or indoors in a bright, sunny spot and also makes an impressive container plant on the patio.
Tasty and packed with vitamins, red peppers are much higher in nutrients than green peppers, particularly vitamins A, C, K and B6 and are incredibly versatile in the kitchen. Perfect added raw to salads or roasted in the oven or added to skewers for barbequing where they have a wonderful, extra-sweet tangy taste if you let them burn a little. They freeze well too, so you can enjoy your home-grown peppers for months after the growing season has ended!
Supplied as 3 established plants in 9cm pots, ready for planting after the risk of frost has passed, growing to a height of 1m (3ft) and spread of 50cm (1½ft).
